A Light Schedule With Flexible Attendance
Are you afraid of committing too much and then not being able to follow through?
Are you a little unsure about what your availability will be in the near future, or even your location?

The Talking Sardines courses are the best way to help you learn Portuguese while juggling all those adulting balls!

Our classes run twice a week for 2 hours each, for a total of 3 months (40 hours total for each module). This lets you balance study time with other competing priorities, and also practice what you've learned in class out in the real world. See the enrollment process here.
Moreover, classes run on a hybrid in-person and online format. If you are free, you can attend in person. If you are traveling or would rather skip the commute, you can join online. Not available during class time? No problem! You can catch up later by watching the recording.

Besides the small 6-people group setting where you get more time to ask questions and get personalized feedback, our programs are also tailored to different types of students and backgrounds.

We strive to separate students according to their learning speed. As such, we offer specific courses for those who speak Spanish or have a fast pace of learning due to their prior knowledge, and regular-paced courses for other students.

All programs follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and they include relevant vocabulary for the topics covered, pronunciation tips, and grammar adapted to the student's level and learning preferences. You can ask for an assessment if you are not sure what level to choose.

Portuguese Teacher!
Olá, eu sou a Liliana!

I was born and raised in Lisbon, and in 2007 I went to live in Ireland, where I stayed 13 years. I know what it's like to live in a foreign country and have to adapt to the local culture and language.
​
I completed my Portuguese teaching qualifications in 2000, and since then I worked in a variety of areas, including education, professional training, personal development coaching (and more). With over 20 years of experience, rest assured that you are in good hands!
In addition, as a passionate polyglot, I speak English and French fluently and I also have some notions of Spanish and Italian. I can often help students by drawing comparisons with a language they know.
